Sabina has been entertaining for over 30 years. She is as comfortable on a crowded dance floor as on the open beach. Wherever she
is, when she picks up her drum and begins the beat, people react enthusiastically by picking up an instrument and joining in, or breaking
or with her bandof professional drummers.

Something magical happens on Saturday nights. The beating of the drums is matched only by the pounding of the hearts as women are joined in spirit by the most powerful instrument in the world....the drum. This all-women drum circle was organized and is led by Sabina Sandoval of FreeToBeMeDrum Circle. The mood is one of freedom. The mother-beat is introduced, and each woman is free to go where her hands and heart lead her, whether to dance to the rhythm, or add to it on the drum. When the time comes to say goodnight, no one is ready to let go of the energy. As the beat winds down, someone takes it back up, until the clock on the wall finally cuts it off. Even then, the buzz continues as the parting women talk, and phones ring because the connection is too powerful to break so early.

"Your body speaks to you in a symphony
of rhythms - the drum returns the call."
In a workshop Sabina will use the drum as an
approach where drum rhythms promote healing
and self-expression. From the shamons of
to the Minianka healers of West Africa,
therapeutic rhythm techniques have been used
for thousands of years to create and maintain
mental, and spiritual health.
Current research is now verifying the therapeutic
effects of drumming rhythm techniques. Recent
indicates that drumming accelerates
physical healing, boosts the immune system and
produces feelings of well-being, a release of
trauma, and reintegration of self.
Sabina has been drumming for over 30 years as a
performer, teacher, and facilitator for both adults
and children. In addition to entertaining at a variety of private and corporate events, Sabina is the founder of the "Free To Be Me
Drum Circle" bringing drumming to the elderly, mentally challenged, convalescents, prisoners, and to teens at risk. She also has
a monthly drum circle on the sand in Hermosa Beach.
